Bret Hart Considering WWE Return

WWE News and Rumors

WWE Hall-of-Famer Bret "The Hitman" Hart has been in talks with WWE recently. This is why the WWE used the "Montreal Screw Job" angle in the CM Punk vs. Undertaker match at the Breaking Point pay-per-view. They wanted the fans to remember the incident in the event that they come to terms with Bret Hart.

Talks between WWE and Hart may have began when Vickie Guerrero gave her notice to the company that she would be leaving. Don't expect to see Bret Hart on WWE TV anytime soon, but Bret has been open to returning as a weekly storyline character.

There have been discussions within WWE about a Bret Hart return for years. In fact, in 2006, Vince McMahon was even planning a pay-per-view match with Bret Hart, but Bret made the decision to retire from wrestling.

JR's Blog: Update, Jeff Hardy & NEW Raw Announcer

Jim Ross has updated JRSBarBq.com. Here are a few snippets:

-JR’s thought’s on Jeff Hardy: Word has it that Jeff Hardy is “laying low” these days and diligently preparing to meet the challenges that await him. The more I hear of this legal matter the more I think that there is MUCH more to this story than meets the eye and that Jeff Hardy is far from being a drug trafficker. To even think the latter is ridiculous. I feel confident that in the coming weeks that Jeff will have his day to reconcile this matter and to better address it publically. Until then, Jeff is wise to remain silent and not feel obligated to tweet, etc his fans as no one needs or deserves any information on this issue until the proper time. Just from what I have been able to ascertain, this case looks much worse on paper than it actually is but let’s all allow the legal process to address this matter and remember that we, as citizens of the United States, are innocent until proven guilty.

Justin Roberts-WWE

-Justin Roberts replacing Lilian Garcia on Monday Night Raw:
I don’t know the details of what going to occur as it relates to replacing Lilian Garcia, whose last night on the job was this past Monday, but I suspect that Justin Roberts, the current SD ring announcer, might get that nod. That’s just speculation on my part but Justin does a really nice job and is a reliable, professional young man. I think getting a female who also sings to do Lil’s role has its challenges. However, it’s obvious that a new ring announcer is needed and someone will be introduced next week or so it would seem. The young lady who worked in Tulsa Tuesday night seem to sing the National Anthem quite well. Read the complete entry here.

Lillian Garcia's WWE Farewell

This was a really sweet moment that made me tear up a little. I am so glad that WWE gave her a dignified send-off rather than ribbing her on her way out. She gave 10 years of service to them and this was a beautiful moment and a lovely way to say goodbye. I am grateful to WWE for giving her the platform to say goodbye on the show that has been ‘home’ for 10 years. Thank you Lilian and goodbye ♥

In a show of class you rarely see in wrestling these days, the WWE allowed Lilian Garcia to give a farewell speech live on tonight’s Raw, which marked her final appearance in what was a 10 year career with the company. PWTorch has a breakdown of what she said:

• Lilian was given the next-to-last segment of the show just before the main event six-man tag match to give a brief, but very emotional recap of her ten-year WWE career.

• Jerry Lawler set up Lilian’s farewell speech as Lilian choked back tears. He thanked Lilian for over ten years of service to WWE, then sent it to her in the ring.

• Lilian opened her speech by saying she joined WWE ten years ago not knowing what she was signing up for.

•Lilian talked about singing the National Anthem after 9/11 and overseas for the U.S. military during WWE’s annual Tribute to the Troops shows.

• She thanked the WWE crew, announcers, and superstars. Lilian choked up talking about announcing some of the greatest matches in WWE history.

• Lilian thanked everyone for their love and support, adding that she will miss everyone. She concluded by waving to the crowd, which applauded her final speech.

Dawn Marie Update

According to a report in the Baltimore Sun, former ECW talent and WWE Diva Dawn Marie.

Marie told the newspaper that she is close to setting up the first health care program for professional wrestlers. Dawn currently operates the Wrestlers Rescue program to improve the lives of both past and present professional wrestlers.

Marie told reporter Kevin Eck, “I am within months of the first national health care program for professional wrestling,” Dawn Marie told Kevin Eck of the Baltimore Sun in an interview. “It’s going to change the industry in such a positive way.”

Marie also pointed out that it’s difficult for professional wrestler to obtain affordable good quality health coverage when they are considered high-risk in what is considered a dangerous occupation.

Marie said the health care plan will put everyone on a level playing field to obtain quality coverage. “With the health care, there’s no high-risk category; it’s normal category. The thing I think people don’t understand is that when you work with a major [wrestling] company, we don’t have health insurance,” she said. “We don’t even have anything to purchase into with our own money. And if we do, we’re considered high risk and we can’t even afford it. Not only can we not afford it for ourselves, we can’t afford it for our families.” Marie claimed she is currently in negotiations with two prominent insurance companies.

She said everything would go through her and wrestlers who are approved will be given different options to find the right program to fit their needs.

I hope that this really does happen for Dawn because she is working from the right place because she has the knowledge of how the Industry works. Plus the Wrestlers in all organisations deserve financial help and assistance, moreover they are putting their lives, bodies and futures on the line for us the fans.

Good Luck to Dawn Marie and Wrestlers Rescue program. From WWEAdikt!!

Lillian Garcia faux pas?!?

As seen on RAW this past Monday, Lilian Garcia made a noticeable error by announcing a Triple Threat Match for the Number One Contendership to the WWE Divas Championship. However, there were only two Divas in the match — Alicia Fox and Gail Kim. In an update, two explanations have been given from people inside WWE regarding the matter.

The first is that the match was originally written down as a three-way bout earlier that day, but plans were changed at the last minute and she was simply never told. The other is that it was indeed planned as a singles match but was deliberately told it was a three-way match so that she'd look stupid (considering she is on her way out of the company). Unlike a few of her noticeable miscues in recent months, we can confirm that she was fed the bad line on purpose as she did not make it up out of the blue.

As many wrestling fans know, World Wrestling Entertainment has a history of embarrassing talent who decided to leave the company on their own accord during their final few days. Furthermore, if the latter scenario is true, this would not be the first time in which Garcia was the butt of a joke for the guys to laugh at backstage. Her final show with WWE is expected to take place next Monday night in Little Rock and the rumored plan of her hosting RAW on her final night appears to be off the cards considering WWE already has a guest booked in Cedric the Entertainment. Hence, it should be really interesting to see how WWE handles her departure from television as more often than not, it's not a graceful one (as Vickie Guerrero, Amy "Lita" Dumas and several others can attest to).

WWE Breaking Point PPV: The Review

THE WWE have given fans a taste of their new-themed PPV idea with Breaking Point.

Borrowing from TNA's hugely successful all-cage match Lockdown event, Vince McMahon's company are starting to introduce shows where the headline bouts are all under variations on a gimmick.

At Breaking Point it was all about submissions, for the main events at least, and there will be TLC and Hell In A Cell focussed PPVs to follow.

And we are pleased to say the changes actually made for a very good event.

The WWE's way of doing the concept - keeping the lesser contests using standard wrestling rules - means fans don't get burned out.

And the submission idea, at least in the awesome John Cena v Randy Orton I Quit contest, made match-ups we'd seen before so much better this time around.

In fact the problem at Breaking Point was not the new ideas introduced by the WWE, but their constant need to revisit an old one.

Back in 1997 - for those old enough to remember - Vince McMahon screwed Bret Hart for real in Montreal, Canada.

Bret was leaving for WCW but refusing to drop his world title to Shawn Michaels, so Vince ordered referee Earl Hebner to "ring the bell" when HBK had a Sharpshooter locked on - meaning a furious Bret 'lost' the match without his knowledge.

Since then the WWE - and to be fair WCW and TNA too - seem to want to repeat the same feat whenever in Montreal, although scripted this time.

And so it was that CM Punk retained his world title against The Undertaker in the night's final submission bout, via a tap out that never happened.

The fact that Teddy Long and Scott Armstrong were in the McMahon/Hebner roles says all you need to do about how cheap this copy was.

What made Montreal so special the first time around, and still talked about today, was the fact Bret was screwed for real.

YOU BOOTY ... Kofi kicks Miz

YOU BOOTY ... Kofi kicks Miz

We can't imagine anyone will still talk about Taker v Punk next week, unless it's to complain about another BS finish in a PPV main event.

But that's really our only complaint about a show that provided excellent entertainment throughout the card and elevated lots of new talent.

Breaking Point opened with Chris Jericho and Big Show retaining their tag titles against the new duo of MVP and Mark Henry.

As you'd imagine this was great when Jericho and Montel were in together and not so good the rest of the time. Victory came via a Big Show punch.

Next up was our new favourite WWE talent - Kofi Kingston.

Kofi is quickly turning into one of the best high-flying talents in the industry and was so impressive yet again in his US title match with The Miz.

A fast-paced contest full of near falls, this was easily both men's best ever bout in the WWE.

The crowd ate up all the reversals, especially a kicking contest, before Kofi put Miz to bed with his Trouble In Paradise finisher.

It was simply a must watch match for any wrestling fan.

Triple H and Shawn Michaels took on Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase next in the night's first themed bout - a Submissions Count Anywhere contest.

The references to Hart and the "you screwed Bret" chants at Michaels weren't surprising, but the result was.

Legacy dominated D-Generation X for much of the arena-wide brawl - with Michaels tapping out to a double submission hold before a badly beaten Triple H could save him.

It wasn't quite a passing of the torch, but will certainly have WWE fans seeing Rhodes and DiBiase as another rung up the ladder.

Kane v Khali in a Singapore Kane match was as dreadful as it sounds on paper. The only good thing was the weapons meant less grappling. The crowd's "boring" chants and commentators' admissions that "this won't be pretty" made us chuckle.

Christian beat William Regal with the Killswitch to retain his ECW championship next in a good but short contest before Randy Orton proved why he is the best in the business today.

CHAIN REACTION ... Cena and Orton

CHAIN REACTION ... Cena and Orton

He may have lost his WWE championship in I Quit match to John Cena, but provided a masterclass in storytelling.

Orton methodically and deliberately took Cena apart, with facials as evil as the beating he was dishing out.

Introducing handcuffs heightened the tension and the more Orton slowed the match - cuffing Cena to the ropes and then the ring post - the more we actually enjoyed it.

When John turned the tables - escaping, handcuffing himself to Randy instead and winning with a metal-enhanced STF - the place came unglued.

But why, when putting on matches like that, the WWE feel the need to keep revisiting events from 12 years ago almost has us at Breaking Point.

We give the PPV 8 out of 10.

WWE Smackdown: **Spoilers** 15/09/09

SmackDown taping at Copps Coliseum in Hamilton.

Solid show from start to finish. I'd say maybe 8,000 on hand with the entire upper deck tarped off.

Batista opened the show with a segment. Lead to Jericho coming out and receiving a spinebuster.

Scott Armstrong said he was told before-hand how the Submission match at Breaking Point was going to end. Vince McMahon told Teddy Long to apologize to the fans. This lead to a brief apology in the ring. Upon leaving ringside, Long was locked in his limo and driven away with Undertaker as the driver.

WWE Intercontinental champ John Morrison defeated Mike Knox.

Melina pinned WWE Women's champion Michelle McCool in a non-title match.

CM Punk had an in-ring segment. Same stuff he says every week about being straight edge.

Hart Dynasty defeated Cryme Time.

Kane vs. Great Khali ended by DQ when Kane hit Khali with a chair. He then used the steel ringsteps on Khali's leg about five times. Khali did a stretcher job during the break.

Drew McIntyre beat up Charlie Haas, who was waiting for his opponent in the ring.

Batista defeated Chris Jericho after a Batista bomb.

The dark match main event was CM Punk vs. Undertaker ending in a no contest when Punk brought a chair into the ring, but Undertaker used it. Afterwards, he hit Punk with a chokeslam and two Tombstones.

Jeff Hardy Update: Court Date & List of Charges

jeff-hardy

Jeff Hardy’s first court hearing will be morning of Wednesday 9/30 to face the following charges:

*Felony possession of cocaine.

*Felony drug trafficking of opium

*Felony possession with intent to redistribute a Schedule III drug (two counts).

*Maintaining a dwelling for drug use and/or distribution.

*Possession of drug paraphernalia. (misdemeanor)

It should be noted that trafficking charges will be related to the weight of the pills Hardy had in his home. Should Hardy be able to provide a legitimate prescription for some/all the painkillers, the weight would be reduced, leading to charges being dropped/reduced as well. That’s all conjecture based on the possibility of legitimate prescriptions, however.

Hardy promised to make a further statement last Friday via his twitter account, but as of yet has not beyond thanking fans for their support.

WWE Breaking Point PPV: The Results

- WWE begins Breaking Point in very familiar fashion, with a video package highlighting the championship feuds going into tonight.

WWE Unified Tag Team Title Match: Big Show and Chris Jericho vs. MVP and Mark Henry

We open tonight’s pay-per-view with a Unified Tag Team Title match. Out first is the Champions, Big Show and Chris Jericho. Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler are on commentary. Out next is MVP followed by his partner, Mark Henry.

Jericho and MVP start things out for their teams. Jericho is slow to start, and actually bails to the floor before coming into contact with MVP. Jericho makes his way back into the ring at three and the two men lock up.

MVP is able to surprise Jericho with a quick flurry of right hands and a hip toss. Jericho stumbles into MVP’s corner and gets clocked by Henry. Jericho starts to fight back with a couple of right hands, but his rally is quickly stopped by a drop toe hold and neckbreaker from MVP.

Henry tags in and Jericho is quick to make the tag to Show. Show makes his way into the ring and both men square off, eventually locking up. Neither man is able to get much advantage off the bat, but Show suckers Henry in with a test of strength, kicking Henry. Show sends Henry into the corner and goes for a splash, but Henry catches Big Show, puts him in the corner and hits a splash of his own. Henry goes for a body slam, but Jericho comes in and knocks Henry down.

Big Show pounds on Henry in the corner before tagging in Jericho who quickly beats on Henry with forearms. Jericho gets shoved down by Henry and it’s not long before Show is back in the match. Each man hits a big lariat at the same time and both are down.

Jericho and MVP both tag in and MVP comes up with the advantage, surprising Jericho with a jumping clothesling and a ballin’ elbow. MVP goes for the cover but Jericho kicks out at two. Jericho pops up out of nowhere and goes for the Walls of Jericho but MVP fights out.

Jericho makes the blind tag and Show comes in and hits a huge spear on MVP. Big Show locks in a front face lock and attempts to wear MVP down. Jericho tags back into the match and kicks away at MVP’s head and side. Jericho locks in a modified sleeper and tries to wear MVP down even more. MVP is finally able to fight out of the submission attempt, and he surprises Jericho with a quick near fall and lariat. MVP almost makes the tag but Jericho is able to prevent it, propping MVP up in the corner and choking him with his boot. MVP hits a quick DDT and both men are down in the middle of the ring.

MVP makes the hot tag and Henry comes in and goes to work on Jericho. Jericho tries to hit a second rope cross body block, but Henry grabs Jericho out of mid air and hits a gorilla press slam. Henry follows up with a big splash, but Big Show breaks it up. Show sends MVP to the outside, Henry sends Show to the outside and goes for another pin but Jericho gets his foot on the rope. Jericho goes for the code breaker out of nowhere, but Henry wont go down and he tosses Jericho aside instead. Big Show is up on the apron where he hits the knock out punch, Jericho makes the pin and the ref counts to three.

Winners: Big Show and Chris Jericho

- Josh Matthews is backstage with Legacy, he asks them about their match tonight. Cody says tonight won’t be a match, it’ll be a fight. Cody says that there are variables in finding a man’s breaking point. Dibiase says they will make DX tap for the first time ever. Ted says that DX is the past and that Legacy is the future.

WWE United States Title Match: Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz

Out first for the next match is the challenger, The Miz. His opponent, the WWE United States Champion Kofi Kingston is out next to a nice pop.

Kingston and Miz lock up right away with Kingston backing the Miz up into the corner. Miz returns the favor by grabbing Kofi’s hair and shoving him in the corner, but instead of breaking clean he hits a kick to the mid-section. Miz locks in a headlock, and when Kofi fights out, he puts Kingston down with a shoulder block. Miz goes for his finisher, but Kofi fights out and hits Miz with a flurry of kicks and a big European uppercut.

Miz fights back with a quick snap suplex, but when he sends Kingston into the ropes, Kofi counters with two cross body blocks and a single leg drop kick. Kingston sends Miz into the corner and charges after him. When Kofi goes to the top rope though his legs are swept out from under him and Miz kicks away at Kofi’s back. Miz slingshots Kofi on the bottom rope and locks in a rear chin lock.

Kofi tries for another cross body block but the Miz gets his boot up and catches Kofi in the chest. Miz locks in another rear chin lock, but it isn’t long before Kingston fights out. Winner: Kofi Kingston

- We get a promo video with highlights from the DX and Legacy feud.

Submissions Count Anywhere Match: DX vs. Legacy

Lilian Garcia announces the rules for this match as Shawn Michaels and Triple H make their way to the ring to a nice pop from the Montreal crowd. They take the mic for their usual pre-match DX stuff. A “you screwed Bret” chant breaks out and Triple H talks about the Montreal “incident” and says it was all Shawn’s fault. The crowd pops. Shawn says it wasn’t him. “You screwed Bret” breaks out again. Out next is Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase.

Things start out quickly with DX jumping Legacy and pounding on them in the corners. Rhodes is sent out to the floor and DiBiase falls victim to a face breaker and chop block. Rhodes is back in and he falls victim to a shin breaker and a chop block. The action spills outside and bear with me as this one will be mighty hard to cover.

Michaels and Rhodes spill out into the crowd and it’s not long before Hunter and Dibiase follow. This is really just a brawl with all four men wailing away at each other. Hunter and Rhodes start to climb the stairs with HBK and Ted following close behind, brawling all the way. Hunter and Rhodes are out of sight, apparently at a concession stand, as Michaels has a submission locked in using one of the hand rails on the staircase. Dibiase fights out and the cameras cut to Hunter and Rhodes who are fighting in front of a crowd going nuts.

HBK and HHH lock in dual figure fours, but Legacy is able to fight out. The crowd starts some kind of chant. The fight goes back into the arena proper and all four men start the fight down the staircase. Both members of DX have submissions locked in again, but neither man submits. DX clotheslines Legacy over the ringside barricade and the action spills back into the ringside area. Hunter grabs a chair and thrusts it into Cody’s throat, before pulling Cody through the chair and locking in a modified sharpshooter. Michaels locks in a camel clutch, but Dibiase is in to break it up. Dibiase throws HHH into the ringside stairs before sending him back into the ring.

HHH surprises Ted with a spinebuster out of nowhere and he locks in the crossface. Rhodes breaks it up, and he tries to send Michaels to the outside, but Michaels skins the cat, grabs Rhodes around the neck with his feet and sends him to the outside. DiBiase sends Michaels to the floor where Rhodes locks in a Gory special, but it’s broken up by Triple H who sends Rhodes into the steel steps.

DiBiase and HHH fight in the ring while Rhodes and Michaels fight out to the entrance ramp and back into the crowd. Rhodes tries to go up the stands through the fans, but Michaels follows. Cody and HBK fight to the side of the stands where Cody pushes Michaels about eight feet down off the side. Referees yell for help and Hunter looks on at HBK while Legacy regroups. Hunter spots Legacy and attacks them like a man possessed.

Hunter goes for a pedigree on the entrance ramp on Rhodes, but DiBiase breaks it up. Hunter and Rhodes fight to the back when DiBiase runs in to quickly break things up again. Legacy double team Hunter with Cody pounding on Triple H while DiBiase holds him. DiBiase locks in the million dollar dream, but Hunter fights out of it.

Hunter hits DiBiase with a spinebuster through a table full of food, and Michaels is up. Hunter has a submission locked in on Rhodes but it’s so dark I can’t see what it is. DiBiase hits Hunter with a big cooler and breaks things up before Rhodes can submit. DiBiase grabs a chair and whacks HHH over the head and it looks like Hunter is out. Rhodes and DiBiase leave Hunter and go back to the entrance ramp to deal with HBK.

Legacy beat Michaels all the way back to the ring where they punch and kick away at him. Michaels actually begins to fight back a bit, dodging an elbow drop and sending DiBiase to the floor. Michaels turns his attention to Rhodes, but Rhodes surprises him with an ankle lock. HBK gets to the ropes but it doesn’t break the submission, Michaels gets to a single leg, still in the ankle lock, fights off DiBiase, sends Ted to the outside and hits Rhodes with a superkick.

Cameras show Hunter stirring in the back, as Rhodes and HBK make their way to their feet. Michaels locks in the figure four on Rhodes, but Dibiase is in to break up yet another submission attempt. Legacy try to double team Michaels, going for a spike pile driver, but HBK fights out, sending Rhodes to the floor and backdropping DiBiase. Michaels begins to tune up the back, but Rhodes sweeps out his legs from behind. Rhodes wraps Michaels legs around the post before pounding away at his head. Rhodes locks in a ringpost assisted figure four and Dibiase comes in from behind to lock in the Million Dollar Dream. Triple H comes rolling (literally) down the aisle, but it’s not enough as Michaels taps out.

Winners: Legacy

- Backstage, Josh Matthews tries to get a reaction from Orton about Legacy’s victory over DX. Orton tells Matthews if he wants to talk to him to have a seat. Matthews asks if Orton has a reaction to Leagacy’s victory. Orton says he has no reaction because he knew Legacy would win. Matthews tries to ask another question, but Orton cuts him off. Matthews tries to ask him a question again, but Orton interrupts, saying that John Cena says that can’t say the words ‘I quit’. Orton says Cena can’t know that, he can’t be sure. Orton says tonight he’s going to make Cena feel like every bone in his body is about to shatter. Orton gets in Matthews face and tells him to watch his match tonight, because John Cena says one thing, but tonight he’s going to make him say something else. Tonight he’ll make him say ‘I Quit’.

Singapore Cane Match: Kane vs. The Great Khali

Jim Ross and Todd Grisham are on commentary as Kane makes his way out for the Singapore Cane Match. Out next is The Great Khali. The ringposts have several canes attached to them.

Kane tries to get the jump on Khali going right after a cane, but Khali attacks, chopping him in the corner. Khali and Kane both grab canes and swing at each other. Khali connects with Kane’s back and the action spills out to the floor. Kane attacks Khali’s legs and grabs the cane, whacking Khali across the back a number of times. Back in the ring, Kane continues to wail on Khali with the cane.
Khali grabs Kane around the throat, but Kane continues to work over Khali’s knee and hit at him with the Kane, maintaining his advantage. Kane uses the cane to assist in an arm lock and he tries to hit Khali again but Khali grabs the cane. Khali uses to the and whacks away at Kane about ten times. Khali hits the big over hand chop and tries for the pin, but it’s only good for a two count.

Khali grabs Kane in the vice grip but Kane grabs a cane and hits Khali over the head to break the hold. The crowd starts a boring chant and Kane climbs to the top rope. Kane comes off and hits Khali with the cane. Ranjin is in and he hits Kane with a cane, and almost falls victim to Kane before Khali breaks things up. Kane attacks Khali from behind, hitting him with a cane and wrapping it around his neck before dropping him backwards over the top rope. Kane hits a big chokeslam and pins Khali for the three count.

Winner: Kane

- Eve is backstage with CM Punk. She asks him about his last minute thoughts before his match with the Undertaker. Punk says no one gives him a chance. He says it’s funny because no one gave him a chance at SummerSlam, but he proved everyone wrong and then he got rid of Jeff for good. Punk says that three weeks later, Hardy did what he does. Punk says it’s all in black in white. He says that you’ll never see his mug shot on TV. Punk says that if you live a good life, good things will happen to you, and that if you live a clean lifestyle, you can overcome the Undertaker. The lights go out and Punk freaks out, it turns out to be Jimmy Wang Yang who’s playing a prank. Yang wishes Punk luck, and shakes his hand, but Punk takes out Yang, before saying that the Undertaker should be worried about him.

ECW Title Match: Christian vs. William Regal with Vladimir Kozlov & Ezekiel Jackson

Out first is ECW Champion Christian to a huge pop from the Canadian crowd. Regal with Kozlov and Jackson come out next.

The match starts out quickly and Christian almost surprises Regal with an early killswitch again, but Regal fights out. Christian locks in a wrist lock, but Regal fights out. Christian connects with a dropkick and goes for the pin but Regal kicks out at two. Christian goes to the top turnbuckle, but Regal catches him with a couple of big forearms, the last of which sends Christian to the floor. Regal sends Christian back into the ring where he locks in a modified choke hold. Christian goes to the top turnbuckle, but Regal catches him with a couple of big forearms, the last of which sends Christian to the floor. Regal sends Christian back into the ring where he locks in a modified choke hold. Christian fights out of the submission attempt and surprises Regal with a monkey flip. Regal hits Christian with a head butt, and follows up with an exploder suplex before pounding on Christian with forearms to the head. Regal locks in a modified surfboard with a dragon suplex for good measure.

Christian fights out and hits a springboard sunset flip, but Regal rolls through and hits a big running knee. Regal locks in a full nelson, but Christian fights out, only to get caught with a modified Regal-plex. Regal goes for the pin and as soon as Christian kicks out, Regal locks in a submission.

Regal puts Christian up on the top, where Christian fights back and connects with a tornado DDT, Christian goes for the cover, but Regal kicks out at two. Regal surprises Christian with a big forearm out of nowhere and he grinds his forearm into Christian’s face on the mat. Christian goes for the killswitch, but Regal counters with the Regal-plex. Christian kicks out and Regal starts to get frustrated.

Christian begins to fight back with a flurry of quick offense that ends in a running knee. Christian goes up top and hits a missile dropkick. Christian goes up to the top again for another missile dropkick, but Regal moves out of the way and hits a rolling senton. Regal props Christian up in the corner but when he charges in Christian gets his feet up. Christian goes for the Killswitch but Regal fights out. Christian goes for the Killswitch again and connects this time, he pins Regal and gets the three count.

Winner: Christian

- Pat Patterson, the first Intercontinental Champion ever is introduced and makes his way to the ring. Patterson takes the mic and thanks the crowd in English and French. Patterson addresses the crowd in French and since I don’t speak French, we’re all in the dark on this one. Patterson says it’s not too bad for him starting out in Montreal and now he’s the Intercontinental champion. Patterson says he’s happy to introduce, but he’s interrupted by Dolph Ziggler’s music.

Patterson says there’s no need to shake hands because he knows who Dolph is. Patterson says he talked to a lot of people in Montreal last night and Ziggler won’t be able to believe who asked about him last night. Nobody. Patterson says he’s only having fun. Patterson says Ziggler has a great future ahead of him, and if he’s good enough, he’ll be IC Champion. Ziggler grabs Patterson before he can leave and asks for the mic. Ziggler says first Bob Barker, now Patterson, when did this company get taken over by senior citizens. Ziggler asks Pat if the retirement home knows he snuck out. Ziggler says he’s just having fun.

Ziggler says before tonight, he thought Pat was dead. Ziggler says that Pat looks good though, even his hairpiece. Ziggler says he can’t believe that they’re wasting time on a fossile like Patterson. The crowd starts a ’shut the f*** up’ chant. Ziggler continues to make fun of Patterson’s age. Ziggler pushes Patterson and calls him a coward before kicking him in the stomach. Ziggler starts to leave the ring but he goes back toward Patterson, John Morrison is out to make the save and he helps Patterson back to his feet.

– The events leading to Randy Orton vs. John Cena are shown.

I Quit Match for the WWE Title: Randy Orton vs. John Cena

Lilian Garcia begins the introductions as the WWE Champion Randy Orton makes his way to the ring first. Orton takes his time getting to the ring. John Cena is out next to a big pop. Lilian does the formal ring introductions and we get ready to go.

Cena and Orton stare each other down for a little while before Cena backs Orton into a corner and puts him down with a belly to belly suplex. Cena hits a (kind of) fisherman suplex and he tries for a diving shoulder block, but Orton ducks and sends Cena to the outside. Orton picks up one of the announcers monitors and hits Cena in the head.

Orton and Cena make their way back into the ring and Orton hits the rope assisted DDT, but not before the ref shoves the mic in Cena’s face for him to say ‘no’. Orton goes to the outside and grabs a chair. Back in the ring, Orton locks in a front face lock and tries to go for an RKO on the chair, but Cena fights out of it, hits two shoulder blocks and a belly to back suplex.

Cena hits the five knuckle shuffle, and tries for the AA, but Orton fights out and snaps Cena’s neck against the top rope. Orton sets up to punt Cena but Cena moves out of the way. Cena tries for the STF, but ORton fights out and rolls to the outside. Cena follows and is quickly sent into the steel ringside stairs. Orton picks up one of the sets of steps and blasts away at Cena. Orton places Cena’s head on the set of stairs and stomps down hard on Cena’s temple. The ref asks if Cena quits and Cena says ‘no’. Orton rolls Cena back into the ring and begins to look under the ring, finally grabbing a black bag. Back in the ring, Orton pulls out a pair of handcuffs and places the key, on a chain, around his neck. Orton handcuffs one of Cena’s hands and puts the other end on the top rope. Orton pounds away on Cena, punching and kicking, telling the ref to ask Cena, but Cena refuses to quit. Orton grabs the mic from the ref and hits Cena square over the head before unlocking the handcuff from the top rope and handcuffing Cena’s hands together. Orton hangs up Cena on the ringpost by the handcuffs and punches away at Cena’s midsection.

Orton grabs a bottle of water to douse over Cena’s head to keep him awake and the ref asks Cena if he quits, but Cena still will not. Orton looks under the ring again and comes up with a pair of Singapore canes. Orton whacks away at Cena’s midsection and legs, causing Cena to scream in pain. Cena takes another whack at Cena’s head before the ref can ask, but Cena will still not quit.

Orton starts to choke Cena with the cane, but Cena catches Orton with a low blow and he’s able to get himself off of the ringpost. Cena is first to his feet, but he’s blasted with a steel chair to the head from Orton. Orton uncuffs Cena’s hand and this time cuffs it to the bottom turnbuckle. Orton grabs a chair and hits Cena across the back. The ref asks but the answer is still no. Orton tries to catch Cena’s head between the steel post and a chair, but Cena ducks and backdrops Orton. Cena grabs the key from around Orton’s nexk and unlocks himself from the top turnbuckle, handcuffing himself to Orton.

Cena starts pounding on Orton, bringing him back in the ring and hitting a belly to back suplex. Cena buries his knees in Orton’s back. Cena stands Orton up and goes for the AA, but Orton fights out and hits the RKO. Orton looks around for the key, which is on the other side of the mat, and he tries to go for it, but Cena pulls on the handcuffs. Dueling chants from the crowd and Cena locks in a handcuff assisted STF, forcing Orton to quit.

Winner and New WWE Champion: John Cena

- After the match, John Cena celebrates as Orton heads to the back. Cena grabs the mic and yells ‘I did not quit.’

- We get a video with highlights of CM Punk winning the World Heavyweight Title and The Undertaker returning.

Submission Match for the World Heavyweight Title: CM Punk vs. The Undertaker

Out first is the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. CM Punk waits and finally the bells toll as The Undertaker’s entrance begins. Taker doesn’t waste too much time getting to the ring as Punk waits on the floor. We go to formal introductions.

Punk bails at the very beginning of the match as soon as the Undertaker charges at him. Back in the ring, Punk continues to try and stay away from Taker, catching him in the corner with quick strikes and kicks. Undertaker grabs Punk around the throat and throws Punk to the outside. Back in the ring, Undertaker catches Punk with a jumping clothesline.

Undertaker props Punk up in the corner and grinds down on him with forearms and elbows. Undertaker sends Punk to the outside and follows him out. Both men try to send each other into the ring post, but neither is successful. Undertaker catches Punk with a big knee and launches him into the barricade.

Undertaker charges Punk but ends up crotching himself on the barricade. Punk takes advantage with a couple of running knees. Punk grabs a chair and buries it in Taker’s midsection before hitting him over the head. Both men make their way back into the ring and Punk hits his corner running knee strike. Undertaker fights back and begins to go to work on Punk’s arm, wrenching it. Undertaker tries for Old School, but Punk fights back and causes Undertaker to crotch himself on the top turnbuckle. Punk tries for a superplex but Taker fights out. Punk catches Undertaker with a kick to the side of the head and tries for another superplex, which is successful this time. Punk kicks away at Taker’s midsection and the two square off in the middle of the ring, with Taker getting the upper hand with his big right hands.

Undertaker press slams Punk into the top turnbuckle and tries for the chokeslam, but Punk catches Undertaker with a roundhouse kick to the head. Out of nowhere, Undertaker locks in the triangle choke and Punk taps immediately.

Winner and New World Heavyweight Champion: The Undertaker

No wait. After the match, Teddy Long’s music hits and Long says that the Hell’s Gate was banned on Smackdown a long time ago by Vickie Guerrero, so the match has to continue.

The bell rings and Punk attacks the Undertaker. Punk locks in the Anaconda Vice out of nowhere and the bell rings but Undertaker DID NOT submit at all… The ref and Punk both book it to the ramp with the title where Teddy Long is standing. Taker is pissed as the pay-per-view goes off the air. Montreal Scewjob, Part 2.

Winner and Still World Heavyweight Champion: CM Punk

Angelina Love to WWE?

Angelina Love

There's still a slight chance that Angelina Love could end up joining WWE instead of returning to TNA.

Angelina Love to WWE

For those of you that have not heard, Angelina Love, one of the top female wrestlers in North America, was released by TNA not too long ago due to issues with her work visa.

While the consensus believes that she will eventually sign a new deal with TNA once things are resolved, there's still that slight window of opportunity for WWE to swoop in and steal her away.

Angelina Love, a former TNA Knockouts Champion, is a Canadian citizen who resides in Toronto, which is the city where Raw is scheduled to be next Monday night (show will be hosted by Trish Stratus).

The 9 year veteran of the business is expected to be backstage at the event (either as a guest of WWE itself or as a guest of one of the many wrestlers there that she is friends with).

While no official talks have been sheduled between Angelina Love and WWE, it would not come as a surprise to anyone if management had a few words with her to gauge her interest.

Signing Angelina Love would be huge for WWE.

Weakening the Opponent

When word got out that former TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim was leaving the company for WWE, it was pretty devastating to the fans.

Gail Kim had been the centerpiece of a female division that was unarguably superior to the WWE's female division.

Losing her was viewed as a major blow at the time (of course, TNA managed to keep the division hot with the depth of talented female performers).

Much like Gail Kim before her, Angelina Love established herself as the centerpiece of the Knockouts division.

If WWE were to sign her away from TNA, they would be delivering what is expected to be a severe blow to their competition.

The Knockouts division will find a way to continue to thrive (someone else will step it up), but it would not be the same without Angelina Love.

Strengthening Yourself

Aside from wanting to hurt the competition, signing Angelina Love, a former developmental wrestler for the company, would strengthen the WWE women's division.

Angelina Love, whose real name is Angel Williams, brings a lot to the table.

As an in-ring performer, she's solid. She understands how to work an audience in between moves. As a personality, Angelina Love knows how to work the mic and draw heel heat.

As an overall performer, Angelina Love is exactly what WWE hopes that Maryse will some day become.

She would immediately join Mickie James and Gail Kim as the veterans who know how to work and can carry the lesser skilled divas in the company.

With her tremendous ass...ets, she could be quite useful to the company for photoshoots and various promotions.

Closing Thoughts

Never say never in wrestling. The odds are that Angelina Love will end up back in TNA, but don't completely rule out the possibility that she could be stolen by WWE.

BREAKING NEWS...Jeff Hardy Arrested

ARRESTED ... wrestling star Jeff Hardy

WRESTLING superstar Jeff Hardy has been arrested on five major drugs charges - after a police raid at his home.

The Moore County Sheriff's Office confirmed that during a search of his house they seized 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and other items of drug paraphernalia.

The estimated street value of the drugs seized was £1,500 ($2,500).

The three-time WWE world champion's charges are listed as "felony trafficking in opium, two

counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanour possession of drug paraphernalia."

Hardy is thought to now be back at his North Carolina home with his brother Matt posting the bail of £75,000 ($125,000).

The 32-year-old grappler was the subject of a joint investigation by officers from the Moore County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, Moore County Sheriff's Office Select Enforcement Unit a

nd the Fayetteville Police Department.

The full arrest report won't be made public until Monday.

Jeff - who only left the WWE two weeks ago - reacted angrily to the situation on his official Twitter page.

He said: "A lot of exaggerations are out there today, don't believe everything you read 4 it is not true, I am at home and fine-thanks for your concern."

He later complained of the media's inaccurate reporting and denied Matt's involvement in the bail posting.

Jeff's career, particularly the last six years, have been riddled with controversy and personal issues. In 2003 he was released by WWE in what was seen as a mutual decision, with Jeff citing burn-out and needing to heal injuries, while WWE were said to be irked by a refusal to attend rehab to address drug issues and a lack of reliability in and out of the ring.

He spent a year out of wrestling before resurfacing in TNA in June 2005. He had a reasonably successful for a time, but found himself suspended in April 2006 for no-showing a PPV match with Raven.

ARRESTED ... wrestling star Jeff Hardy

He would return shortly afterwards, but was gone by the end of the year, once again failing to attend a major show.

He was given a second chance by WWE midway through 2006, and soon recaptured tag team gold with brother Matt as well as figuring in the intercontinental title picture.

Hardy missed the 2007 SummerSlam through what was believed to be his first 30-day suspension. His official website reported an injury which kept him out for a month, but Jim Ross' blog made comments which alluded to an enforced absence by the company, and not due to him being hurt.

The absence did not seem to affect his push, since by the Royal Rumble 2008 he was pitted against Randy Orton for the WWE championship. He was not successful, but was probably the most over wrestler in the company at that time.

Once again, though, he was blighted by his inability to stay out of trouble. He was suspended for sixty days for a wellness violation in March 2008, causing him to miss WrestleMania 24. The fact that this suspension was 60 days further indicated that his previous absence had been due to suspension.

In September last year he was refused permission to board a plane home after an event, but it did not result in any further action.

Even after Hardy's turbulent year he won his first major title in December 2009 when he captured the WWE Title at Armageddon. He had has two further stints as World Champion since then.

His decision to leave the company again was leaked several months ago, with the exact date undetermined until just two weeks ago when he lost the title to CM Punk in a TLC match, then was defeated by Punk on Smackdown in a cage match where the loser was forced to leave WWE.

Ironically, CM Punk had used his rivalry with Hardy to turn heel, and used his Straightedge lifestyle, where he abstains from all drug and alcohol use, as a springboard to pompously chastise Jeff for his errant ways and his fans for cheering him for it.

It will be intriguing to see whether Punk follows up this incident to prove his point.

Were Jeff Hardy still with WWE then it seems certain that they would have taken a dim view of this incident and immediately fired him.

There are revelations that they have already pulled a DVD set that was to be dedicated to the star's career.

This new revelation may have harmed his chances of ever returning to the company ever again, and is sure to disappoint his many legions of fans.

JR's Blog Update

Jim Ross has a new blog up at JrsBarBQ.com. Highlights are below.

On Bob Barker: I'm still amazed at how well Bob Barker handled his role on LIVE TV Monday night especially considering that the TV legend is in his mid 80's. Mr. Barker has to be considered on of the best guest hosts that Monday Night Raw has featured.

On Trish Stratus: What will Trish Stratus' role entail in her hometown Monday night in Toronto? She will undoubtedly be the "hottest" guest host to date...no pun intended....the talented 7 time WWE Women's Champion is a happily married lady.

On Shelton Benjamin: It looks like Shelton Benjamin is working his way back to being a fan favorite. I could be wrong but that's what it seems to me. I still think Benjamin can be special with the right presentation because athletes like him don't come along too often. Plus, Shelton is one of the most engaging and entertaining guys on any roster in the locker room. If that talent can be transferred to in front of the camera, and I think it can, the WWE can mine some valuable minerals from the Gold Standard.

On Chris Jericho: How good is Chris Jericho? Is any performer in the business better at this point in time? Jericho's interaction with Barker and then his match with MVP Monday was exemplary.

On broadcasting for Sunday: I do not know what Todd Grisham and my assignments for Sunday in Montreal, a great city by the way, love those smoked meat sandwiches, other than we will call Kane-Khali, Punk-Undertaker and "possibly" the Jericho/Show vs. MVP/Mark Henry tag bout. Who broadcasts the tag is still up in the air as I understand it. With Raw being WWE's top, TV priority and brand from a corporate positioning standpoint, Cole and Lawler might get the bulk of the work in Quebec.

On going to TNA Wrestling: It's just more gossip. I am of the mindset that I will end my career in WWE.

WWE Breaking Point PPV: Intercontinental Championship Match REMOVED!!

Morrison vs Ziggler Breaking Point 2009

Intercontinental Champion John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler

This Match has been Removed from the WWE Breaking Point PPV Card!!!

Batista Rumours?!?!

Acording to sources, Dave Batista's "Career Altering Decision" will be that he has been in discussions with Smackdown General Manager Theodore "Teddy" Long and due to the huge Talent in the Raw locker room, he will be moving to The Smackdown Brand. This scenario seems correct because of the announcement that Teddy made on the Smackdown Tapings in the convosation with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon in which he announced;

"Long tells him that next week he has a surprise that will "change the face of Smackdown" and will have "something excellent" at the PPV Sunday."

The "Something Excellent" that may be added to the PPV Sunday is that The World Heavyweight Championship match will become a Triple Threat or he may interfear in the WWE Unified Tag-Team Championship Match and put The Hart Dynasty in the match.

CHICAGO
— If you’ve read Bob Barker’s autobiography “Priceless Memories,” you know the former Price Is Right host has seen many strange things during his 50 years in show business. Yet, even the wildest Showcase Showdown moment couldn’t prepare Barker for his stint as Raw’s celebrity guest host. From a Body Slam Challenge between two of WWE’s largest Superstars to a battle between DX and the unique combination of Randy Orton & Chris Masters, the final Raw before Sunday’s WWE Breaking Point was one to remember.

Meanwhile, back in the ring, Randy Orton talks about the look of disappointment on the faces of DX. He says that they better get used to it because on Sunday, Cody and Ted are going to make DX submit. Randy says that he will retain the WWE Title in the main event. He says that is what he lives for. It is all that he considers important in his life.

John Cena comes out and he comes to the ring and he attacks Orton. Orton goes to the floor and Cena follows after him. Cena sends Orton onto the announce table. Orton returns to the ring and he gets Cena as he re-enters the ring and hits an IEDDT. Orton gets a chair and he sets it up in the center of the ring. Orton picks up Cena’s limp body and he hits an RKO onto the chair.

HUGE WWE Name considering TNA Move?

jimross

PWInsider reports that a “huge WWE name” is considering joining TNA. The person in question is Jim Ross.

His contract with WWE is set to expire at the end of the year and company officials have yet to offer him a new one.

It should be noted however that Ross is considering all of his options and joining TNA is very much a possible scenario he’s taking very seriously. He could just as well stay in WWE though.

ROH Release Statement on McGuinness & Danielson

The following statement was issued from Ring Of Honor today regarding ROH talent Nigel McGuinness signing with World Wrestling Entertainment:

Nigel McGuinness has agreed in principle to a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.

Nigel has been a tremendous leader in the Ring of Honor locker room and, without question, a wonderful performer. His merits, both in and out of the ring, are extraordinary and any locker room with Nigel McGuinness in it is better for it. We couldn’t be happier for Nigel as he takes the next step in his stellar wrestling career, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Nigel for all he’s worked for and through.

Nigel has pledged to fulfill his scheduled Ring of Honor commitments. Please join us in Philadelphia, Boston, and New York as we bid an extremely fond farewell to another member of our family.

roh-nigel-mcguinness_feature

Everyone at Ring of Honor is extremely proud to have called both Nigel McGuinness and Bryan Danielson their own; and we looking forward to seeing their stars shine brighter than ever. Like many of the wonderful sons of Ring of Honor that have written new chapters in their wrestling annals, we will look on with a bittersweet smile to the future where we have no doubt that Nigel and Bryan will amaze the masses – just like they’ve done so many times in Ring of Honor.

With the closing of this chapter a new one opens in Ring of Honor. We now look to an exciting time where new stars will blaze their own paths, while looking back in reverence to those who came before them. Who will seize the opportunity and carry the torch for ROH? We only hope that whoever it is will carry it with the same respect – the same honor – that Bryan and Nigel have.
