Rey Mysterio has finally responded to his recent drug suspension.

The former World Heavyweight Champion was interviewed by a Mexican newspaper recently. When asked about his drug suspension, he explained that it was a misunderstanding between WWE and he.

Mysterio stated that he was suspended for a medication that he was taking to heal his arms and knees. The popular masked superstar also stated that he did indeed have a prescription for the medication.

The former WCW and ECW star was instructed by the company to provide proof of the prescription by a certain date. Mysterio explained that he was unable to provide the proof since he was not informed until after he returned from overseas on a promotional tour for WWE.
