WWE has suspended pint-sized grappler Rey Mysterio for breaching its Wellness Program.
A message posted on the WWE website stated: "In accordance with WWE's Wellness Program, effective Wednesday, September 2, Oscar Gutierrez (Rey Mysterio) is suspended for 30 days for a violation of the company's policy."
This is not the first time Mysterio's name has been connected to drug use.
On March 19, 2007, Sports Illustrated published an article investigating steroid and human growth hormone use among professional athletes in several sports.
That article mentioned several current and former WWE stars, including Mysterio, who was alleged to have obtained nandrolone and stanozolol from an Internet website.
The suspension will take effect next Wednesday - likely to allow Mysterio to drop the Intercontinental Title in Cleveland, Ohio, at Tuesday's Smackdown TV taping.
