Due to overseas tour plans, WWE taped next Monday's edition of WWE RAW at tonight's show. As was hyped Monday, the event includes John Cena vs. Triple H in the finals of the tournament for a shot at Randy Orton's WWE Championship and Ted DiBiase as the guest host. --

Ted DiBiase, Sr. opens the show with accompaniment from Cody Rhodes and his son. DiBiase orders a Night of Champions match; Edge and Chris Jericho will defend the Unified Tag Championship against Rhodes and DiBiase, Jr. He also announces Rhodes vs. Mark Henry and Randy Orton vs. Ted DiBiase, Jr.

-- Edge and Jericho defeated the Colons in a non-title match after taking both champions' finishers--the referee was occupied with Primo as this was going on. Carlito went heel, turning on Primo after the match.

-- Gail Kim and Mickie James defeated Maryse and Alicia Fox.

-- In a segment with DiBiase, Sr. and Rhodes, Rhodes fails to talk his way out of his upcoming match. DiBiase, Sr. also cuts a promo on Dusty Rhodes.

-- Mark Henry defeated Cody Rhodes by count-out.

-- Randy Orton defeated Ted DiBiase with his RKO.

--A VIP Lounge segment with MVP and Jack Swagger planted the seeds for a feud between the two.

-- Ted DiBiase, Jr. and Ted DiBiase, Sr. argued in a segment, with the younger DiBiase upset about having been put in the match with Orton.

-- Evan Bourne defeated Kofi Kingston in a non-title match. Big Show attacked both of them after the bout.

-- Triple H and John Cena fought to a no-contest when DiBiase, Jr. and Rhodes attacked both of them. DiBiase, Sr. ordered a triple threat with Orton, HHH and Cena for Night of Champions.

Lillian Garcia and WWE Parting ways...

lilian-l2

Reported an few weeks ago, WWE is looking for an female ring announcer. As it turns out, this DOES involve current Raw ring announcer Lilian Garcia. Lilian has posted an messgae on her website, Lilian Garcia.com that she has handed in her resignation

Hi Everyone,

I hope all of you are doing well! I am writing to address the situation in which WWE is looking for a Female Ring Announcer/Singer. The truth of the matter is that they are looking for someone new because I have given them my notice that I will be leaving at the end of my contract this year. It is with a heavy heart that I have made this decision because WWE has been my family from day one and you, the WWE Universe have always been incredible to me. The fact is that I am getting married later this year and have decided to enter into a new phase of my life but I will truly miss all of you and the WWE tremendously.

Love you all & keep rockin!

Forever Rockin’,
Lilian :-)

WWE Signs New British Diva

Jemma Palmer AKA Inferno
-Diva-Dirt.com is reporting that WWE has signed British wrestler, and formally known at “Inferno” in the UK version of American Gladiators Jemma Palmer. 23 year old Palmer is scheduled to start her developmental deal this summer.

Trump's Last Laugh....

Gone? Absolutely. Forgotten? Not so fast.

Donald Trump’s brief tenure as the owner of Raw may have ended, but his actions taken at that time continue to reverberate throughout the WWE landscape.

On Monday’s episode of Raw, the WWE Universe learned that, before selling Raw back to Mr. McMahon, “The Donald” had orchestrated more than a dozen Superstar trades, extending through all three WWE brands and including the following:

Moving to the Raw roster:
Gail Kim
Alicia Fox
Jack Swagger
Evan Bourne
Mark Henry

Moving to the SmackDown roster:
Matt Hardy
Finlay
The Hart Dynasty - David Hart Smith, Tyson Kidd & Natalya

Moving to the ECW roster:
Shelton Benjamin
Goldust
William Regal
Brie & Nikki Bella

The man who prides himself on having mastered the “art of the deal” has made a career out of getting the last laugh in the business world. And now the same can be said of Trump’s interactions with Mr. McMahon, the fellow billionaire who so publicly fired him. After all, Trump not only slapped The Chairman after the firing, he also walked away with twice the amount he had paid for Raw upon selling it back to Mr. McMahon. And now, a full week after his departure, the effects of Trump’s tenure are just now bubbling to the surface.

Could there be more earth-shaking revelations in store? We can’t be certain, but stay tuned!

JR's Blog Update

Jim Ross has posted his newest thoughts on his personal website, JRSBARBQ. Com Here are a few details:

JR Speaks to Gerald Brisco:I spoke with my old friend Jerry Brisco on Friday and he was feeling better and looking forward to what he hopes will be his heart procedure next week in Tampa. As tests continue to be done and more info is provided Jerry, it has been discovered that he did not have any artery blockage whatsoever including his neck and that the sole source of his strokes was a result of a faulty heart valve along with a small hole in his heart both of which Jerry was born. It is amazing that Jerry was able to participate and succeed at such a high level athletically his entire life with a heart defect while showing no ill affects of the issue. Jerry’s speech, as a result of the stroke issues, has improved tremendously since I talked to him last but I told him that he would always sound like an Okie which I don’t perceive to be a bad thing. So the sole culprit of Jerry Brisco’s health issues was a heart issue that he was born with and that he has been living with his entire life. The hospital stay after surgery is generally only 1-3 days while recovery time for such procedures is 4-6 weeks as a rule. With that said, it will probably be 2-3 months before Jerry is back at 100% and with his ticker then operating without defects I suspect the former Oklahoma State Cowboy will feel better than he has in years. Jerry Brisco, is a deserving WWE Hall of Famer, who has been a major asset to WWE for many, many years and is a credit to the profession. Brisco’s eye for talent and his ability to recruit top quality athletes is an invaluable asset for WWE.

JR and his wife was invited to Michael Jacksons Estate: Many years ago I turned down an opportunity to join my wife, along with several WWE corporate types, at a private function at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. I believe the occasion was a birthday party for a Jackson family member. My wife recalls the Jackson kids asking if “J.R. was o.k.” as that apparently was around the time Kane BBQ’ed yours truly. Many within the Jackson household followed WWE on TV regularly as Jan remembers getting bombarded with questions and some of the Jacksons have attended WWE events over the years. My wife recalls the experience as being a great deal of fun and remembers being pretty sure that she saw Michael in costume wearing a “fat suit” so as to not to distract from the other family member’s birthday celebration by causing a commotion amongst the visiting guests. Neverland Ranch was an extraordinary place for an individual’s residence even someone as unique as Michael Jackson. Coming off the untimely death of Jackson this week at only 50 years of age, in hindsight I wish I had accompanied the Mrs on this trip. Jackson was an impeccable showman with precision like timing and possessed amazing crowd psychology…..which are all enviable traits of a great wrestler in any decade past, present or future.

JR Remembers Farrah Fawcett: Farrah Fawcett and I had a mutual friend, the irrepressible John Paul Shellnut who resides in Houston, Texas and who is also great friends with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top fame. JP put me on the phone with Farrah many, many years ago after I told him of my fascination of the woman who was considered at one time to be the sexiest woman in the world. Michael Jackson’s death seemed to have put Farrah Fawcett’s passing on the back burner which I feel is unfortunate. The reason is that Farrah battled cancer so bravely and that battle should be a great example for all of us when we are faced with major challenges in our lives. Farrah was fun and feisty with me on the phone and I was probably childlike in my brief albeit memorable conversation with her as she was out socializing with my pal JP. Farrah even sent us a signed photo that we have hanging in our J.R.’s Family BBQ in Norman where she wrote a lovely inscription in her amazingly artistic handwriting. Farrah Fawcett was an icon who kept her gifts of sex appeal and charming personality as her calling card for many years even though her talents reached much farther than simply appearing on arguably the most famous poster ever made.

JR Wants Lashley to WIN:Lots of ticket selling trash being talked about from big Bob Sapp who tangles with former WWE alum Bobby Lashley this weekend in Biloxi. Unless Lashley walks in front of a gigantic, Sapp right hand and/or attempts to trade punches with the one dimensional Sapp, Lashley should be able to take his much larger foe down and pound Sapp into submission Saturday night.

The Bash PPV 2009 Card

Donald Trump Buys Raw!! THE TRUTH

On Monday Night Raw, it was revealed that Donald Trump had purchased WWE Raw, which is the flagship show for Vince McMahon's company.

Donald Trump Buys WWE Raw

On Monday night, Vince McMahon strolled down the aisle of the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. He promised a huge announcement for wrestling fans.

Vince McMahon announced that billionaire real estate developer Donald Trump had purchased Monday Night Raw from him.

The Chairman of the WWE then announced that starting next week, Donald Trump was taking over the show. Next week's episode of Raw is scheduled to be a unique one - no commercial interruptions for the entire two hours of programming.

Monday Night Raw now belongs to Donald Trump.

Not Really

First and foremost, I feel the need to clarify that this is just a storyline. Donald Trump is not the owner of Monday Night Raw. Vince McMahon did not sell a piece of his company to him.

There are a handful of wrestling fans out there that believe that this "transaction" is real. Many of them are already on various wrestling message boards talking about how much Donald Trump is going to change things.

Once again, this is just a storyline.

Mass Marketing

This entire thing is a publicity stunt concocted by Vince McMahon to gain more attention to his company. He found a willing participant in Donald Trump, who is not one to avoid the spotlight for very long.

WWE is trying to do a marketing blitz right now, and they're hoping to see some major results in the immediate future.

Just take a look at what the company has been doing as of late.

This week, they produced a three hour special episode of Raw that included three big title matches.

Over the past few days, they've had a couple of title changes (Batista, Tommy Dreamer, Kofi Kingston, CM Punk, Randy Orton) to induce some interests from the wrestling fanbase.

They're also promoting a big Last Man Standing title match next week between Triple H and Randy Orton. That's not usually something that WWE gives away on free television.

Combine all of this with the mainstream marketing scheme involving Donald Trump, and it's quite obvious that Vince McMahon is deperate to improve the numbers immediately.

What's Next?

This publicity stunt shouldn't last more than a month. More than likely, this thing will end as soon as Vince McMahon gets the mainstream media attention that he craves.

Don't expect to see Donald Trump having a weekly on air role as the general manager of Raw. Don't expect to see this culminating in a one-on-one battle between the Donald and Vince McMahon.

The only that's worth looking out for is to see Vince McMahon doing a skit where he fires Donald Trump. Knowing the egos involved, though, it would be quite a surprise to see it happen.

Closing Thoughts

Just another publicity stunt by WWE. Hopefully, Vince McMahon gets what he wants, so we can get back to wrestling again.

Backstage News after Extreme Rules 2009

Here are several big news items coming out of last night's Extreme Rules Pay-Per-View:

-- After Jeff Hardy captured the World Heavyweight title from Edge last night, CM Punk cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and took Hardy out to capture the gold for a second time. There is a lot of talk that the way Punk took advantage of Jeff Hardy will be the starting point for a Punk heel turn.

-- During last night's Intercontinental title match, Chris Jericho unmasked Rey Mysterio before capturing that belt for a record-breaking 9th time. As previously reported, WWE plans to have this feud continue for at least another month. Jericho and Mysterio enjoy working together and their feud has gotten rave reviews backstage. Moving forward, expect Mysterio's mask to become a part of their rivalry with a possible mask vs. title match in the future.

-- Jeff Hardy's girlfriend Beth posted a message on her Twitter page stating that Jeff broke his finger and injured his shoulder during the ladder match with Edge at Extreme Rules.

Batista set for Surgery?

According to sources, new WWE champion Batista is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday morning for a torn bicep, which he sustained prior to his match with Randy Orton at 'Extreme Rules' and was a likely factor for the match being so fast.

Batista just came back from a hamstring injury at the beginning of April and it is no secret that he was rushed back to TV and asked to work a full schedule with house shows.

One would expect an angle to be shot Monday night on 'Raw' and lead to Batista dropping the title.
