Wrestlemania XXV Plans

New York Magazine caught up with Mickey Rourkelast night at a Fashion Show in New York City and asked him about his involvement at WrestleMania. "We're gonna go in support. Vince McMahon, Roddy Piper, and Ric Flair have been such a part of the movie," Rourke said. "So whatever support I can give back to all those people from WWE, I'm gonna do that." When the reporter asked Rourke why he backed out of his rumored match with Chris Jericho, NYMag.com writes that Rourke's publicist jumped in and said, "We don't need to talk about that."

Regarding Hogan vs. Cena at WrestleMania, I was informed about the possibility of such a match on Monday night from a source within WWE, which is where all the Internet rumors on Hogan started. It has not yet been confirmed, but there has definitely been some back-and-forth between Hogan and the company about the Wrestling legend doing the match.

If Hogan doesn't go through with the match, Cena will simply face Edge for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. But if Hogan ends up going through with the match, Edge will square off against Big Show as they already have a program in place.

As far as a Chris Jericho vs. Mickey Rourke match is concerned, WWE definitely wants to go through with it, but it remains to be seen whether Rourke himself comes through. Right now, Rourke is publicly saying he's not doing the match, but company officials expect him to change his mind following the Academy Awardy

. If Rourke goes through with the match, a boxing match is expected to take place with Ric Flairin his corner. However, WWE has a back-up plan in place should Rourke not go through with the match.

During the build towards WrestleMania, Chris Jericho will continue to run down a wrestling legends. WWE is looking to do some sort of scenario where Jericho takes on several legends in a match at WrestleMania.

Original Christian Cage Plans

SmackDown writer Michael Hayes originally came up with the idea of Christian Cage doing all the sneak attacks on Jeff Hardy to be revealed at the Royal Rumble As time went on and people figured that Christian was behind it, and/or Hayes realized how Vince felt about Christian, he approached Vince with the idea of giving the role to Matt Hardy. Hayes sold the idea on the fact that Matt vs. Jeff would be a bigger surprise and bigger draw than Jeff vs. Christian, and Vince agreed with him.

John Laurinaitis had been pushing to do something with Christian sooner, rather than have him sit and wait until April. While all the talk about his return was going on, Vince started to sour on Christian. Back in 2005, whenever ideas were brought up for Christian, Vince always nixed them and only saw Cage as an upper midcarder. Vince even said in Meetings that Christian had no star aura about him and that his head shot promotional photo was one of the worse he had ever seen.

RAW writer Brian Gewirtz asked about bringing him to RAW after Matt got the spot on SmackDown, but there was concern he would end up like D-Lo Brown - just hired and forgot about without getting a chance. They came up with the idea to give him a new feud with someone Vince is high on, that being Jack Swagger. They felt the longer they didn't get him on TV, the more likely he'd end up never to get going and this was the best thing they had for him. The original idea for the ECW show had the same opener with the two but several segments were planned that showed Christian meeting the talent on the brand and putting him over like it was a big thing he was there.

The actual match was booked to be a short sprint for him to shine some more, ending with Swagger getting counted out or some crazy no contest. Vince ended up changing the show to what it ended up being. It was seen internally as Vince having no vision of Christian as a star.

Major Superstar switching Brands and Possible Wrestlemania Matches

Going into last night's No Way Out Pay-Per-View, there was a lot of uncertainty regarding what top matches will take place at WrestleMania 25 on April 5th. At No Way Out, SmackDown star Edge dropped the WWE title (to Triple H) only to win the RAW brand's World Heavyweight title later in the night. WWE.com currently lists both titles on their SmackDown Superstars page, so the situation has been acknowledged and is expected to be part of WWE storylines in the coming weeks.

At of the No Way Out Pay-Per-View, the word backstage was that WWE Champion Edge will be keeping the World Heavyweight championship on SmackDown. With the recent feud between Randy Orton and the McMahon family, Triple H would to move to RAW with the WWE title to defend the honor of his wife, Stephanie. There has been talk of WWE finally acknowledging on-air that Stephanie and Triple H are married and it would be revealed that Triple H is the person Stephanie has been talking to on the phone on RAW for the past few weeks. This would set up Randy Orton vs. Triple H for the WWE title at WrestleMania.

No Way Out 2009 Shocking Results

World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Result

Despite letting the WWE Championship slip from his clutches to The Game hours earlier, the Rated-R Superstar found his way back in at No Way Out. The Ultimate Opportunist forcibly yet masterfully manipulated entry into Raw’s Elimination Chamber Match to capture the World Heavyweight Title.

WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Result

Just as he did at Now Way Out in 2008, Triple H outlasted five other Superstars to emerge victorious from the Elimination Chamber. The win earned him Edge’s WWE Championship and made The Game a 13-time World Champion.

Randy Orton Vs. Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon hoped to use his No Holds Barred Match against Randy Orton as an opportunity to exact vengeance upon the venomous Superstar, who had recently injured his father with a vicious punt. Unfortunately for Shane O’Mac, it was the Legend Killer who dealt out the most serious damage, winning the contest and cementing his legacy at the expense of the McMahons’.

ECW Championship:- Jack Swagger (c) Vs. Finlay

In front of the thunderous capacity crowd at No Way Out, ECW Champion Jack Swagger triumphed over Finlay to retain his ECW Championship. Although the Belfast Brawler hoped that Irish eyes would be smiling upon him in his quest for gold at the end of the rainbow, it was the new face of ECW that would have the last laugh.

Shawn Michaels Vs. JBL

After months of fighting a moral battle within himself as JBL’s employee, Shawn Michaels finally broke free from the grasp of the self-made millionaire. Playing the time-tested tune of Sweet Chin Music, HBK defeated his former boss to win their All or Nothing Match.

Matt Hardy on Christian's Return on ECW

Matt Hardy on Christian

"Good job Teddy Long-I'm glad to see you listened to the smartest man in wrestling, Matt Hardy. After I correctly called you out for being a bad General Manager, you finally did something right. After I pointed out to the world your managerial flaws and mistakes, you finally took a step in the right direction with ECW this week. My sources told me that the Sci-Fi network was absolutely furious I was no longer the flagship of their primary television show. ECW was in jeopardy of being canceled if Teddy Long didn't attempt to fill the monstrous void I left in the ECW roster. To fill this enormous void, Theodore Long brought in Christian, Tyson Kidd, and has Evan Bourne on the way back. It was a good start to filling my void, although it'll take more than these three to do it. So to all of you who enjoyed ECW this week, you have me to thank me for it.

Speaking of Christian, we have a very long and storied history together. Christian was a recipient of my star-making abilities back in the first ever tag team ladder match. Christian was also smart not to stick his nose into my business with Jeff. I could see how he would be tempted to upon resigning with the WWE, but fortunately he was smarter than that. It's also funny how alot of the "internet journalist" and "internet fans" thought Christian might be somehow associated with me and my master plan. Nope. Never has been. There's never been any changes in my plans, there's never been a "B" plan, and Christian hasn't ever been factored in at any time. If Christian did happen to become ignorant enough to interfere with me and my plans, he might find a "Black Cloud" above his head."

WWE Draft 2009

WWE Draft 2009
As if April couldn’t possibly get any bigger – WWE.com has learned that eight days following the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania, WWE will “shake things up” once again, with a 2009 WWE Draft that will commence live on Monday Night Raw, on Sky Sports.
In many ways, the WWE Universe continues to feel the aftershocks created by from last year’s epic Draft on Raw, during which 10 Superstars changed their respective home brands. Followed by more than a dozen Superstars who were affected by a subsequent Supplemental Draft that took place on WWE.com. Several of those roster adjustments quickly resulted in title changes that dramatically altered the WWE landscape – among them, CM Punk
winning the World Heavyweight Championship from Edge a week after the Straightedge Superstar had been drafted to Raw.
With that, what can our Superstars, General Managers and you, the WWE Universe, expect from the Draft when Raw commences live in Atlanta's Philips Arena April 13? Details will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead, though one thing is certain: as per Mr McMahon's statement a year before, it will be “time to shake things up around here!”

Christian Cage WWE Return

At the Royal Rumble, the world was waiting for someone to reveal themselves as Jeff Hardy’s mystery assailant.

Although many were expecting the return to WWE of Jay Reso, better known as Christian Cage, it turned out to be Matt Hardy turning on his brother.
As things turned out, Christian was not involved in the break up of Team Extreme.
This week, though, he finally reappeared – in a very different place to most expected.
ECW Champion Jack Swagger opened this week’s show with standard heel rhetoric, belittling his No Way Out opponent Finlay and calling out the Irishman’s sidekick Hornswoggle.
However, it was not the leprechaun that answered the All-American American’s call, it was Christian.
Vince McMahon may be sending a double barrelled message to anyone that is considering returning to the WWE by placing Christian in ECW and he may have to climb the WWE Ladder all over again, despite his successful TNA Career.
BUT There is the WWE Draft and anyone and everyone is eligible so Christian may find himself on Smackdown or Raw..
